A roundup of stories about street style and things to do during the holidays in our favorite cities would be remiss without a nod to sunny Miami. Let's start with style: People usually relegate Miami fashion to the realm of bathing suits and glitzy sundresses. But there’s nothing locals love more than a slight dip in the temperature to give them an excuse to bust out hats, sweaters, and boots. We scoured the city, from South Beach to Aventura, on the lookout for trendsetters showcasing Miami’s version of winter style. What we found? When you can’t wear lots of layers, opt for statement-making accessories and small bursts of color.

1. Julie Morgan, interior designer, 25 (above, left)
What She’s Wearing: J Brand skinny jeans, a short-sleeve black button down she’s had forever (and has no origin/tags), and a grey Marc Jacobs shoulder bag.
Fashion Philosophy: “Comfortable during the day, and it doesn’t matter how much it hurts for special events.”
Favorite Stores: “My favorite local places are Alchemist and Oxygene, Joanna Paige at Mary Brickell Village for accessories and shoes, Emporium in Coral Gables for gifts, and Unika in the Grove for clothes.”
Holiday Wish List: “Jewelry. Big gems.”
2. Daniel Murphy, advertising copy writer, 31 (above, middle)

What He’s Wearing: Sweater by NSF from Barneys Co-op, a white button-down shirt custom made in Thailand, a Tony Silom striped green, John Varvatos jeans, Converse shoes, and a Swiss Army watch.

Favorite Clothing Item: “A custom-made sports coat my girlfriend bought me on a trip to Thailand.”
Holiday Wish List: “An Armani tuxedo.”
