The adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's bestselling memoir Eat Pray Love opens this weekend—with the New York Times calling it "a sumptuous and leisurely adaptation...of post-divorce globe-trotting." To wit, there are more than twice as many "Eat Pray Love" offerings on eBay this week as there were at this time last year, and Elizabeth Gilbert listings have also jumped, up 47 percent. read more
We continue our three part series exploring classic cinematic summer style with “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” the film adaptation of Tennessee William’s Pulitzer Prize winning play of the same name; one that has inspired decades of revivals on screen and live in theaters across the nation. Fittingly, the song was co-written by Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Sally Seltmann, who once performed under the name New Buffalo. Seltmann, who has previously toured with Feist, Broken Social Scene and Architecture in Helsinki, returns to North America this summer to promote her latest album, Heart That’s Pounding. read more
