  I was lucky enough to spend 10 days in beautiful South Africa this June enjoying the World Cup games and the thousands, upon thousands, of die-hard global soccer fans. As much as I loved watching the matches, it was really the landscape, the sights, and the fantastic design scene that left me wanting to stay longer in the country. At the very least, I wish I’d had a way to bring back all the aesthetic inspiration I came across during my trip.   Party Starter: Watching the World Cup

  For those of you wondering what all the hooting and hollering was coming from your local sports pub over the weekend: The World Cup started Friday, June 11th, with a fierce match between South Africa and Mexico and a shocking tie on Saturday between the U.S. and England. Even while I write this, the bars and coffee shops in my local Brooklyn neighborhood are packed to capacity with fans watching their respective games. The screams and cheering from excited soccer supporters are wafting at a pretty high decibel through my office window. And just so you know dear readers, it is barely lunch time here in Brooklyn. South Africa is hosting this year’s World Cup, and 32 teams from countries around the world are competing against each other in 10 different stadiums in 10 different South African Cities. Read More
