Suddenly Everywhere: Vicious Fashion

Lady Gaga Alejandro Video; Rolling Stone Magazine Lady Gaga July 2010
If looks could kill, right now they would. Skulls, spikes and artillery-related clothing and accessory items are having a fashion moment, from Lady Gaga's machine gun bra in her "Allejandro" video and on a recent cover of Rolling Stone, to Christian Louboutin's new Clou Noeud spiked platform heels and Kristin Cavallari's dangerously chic spiked cocktail dress, which she rocked at the premiere of "Salt." With edgy designers such as Alexander McQueen and Alexander Wang ruling the runways, the look of the moment is all about ferocity. As such, eBay has seen "studded" listings for clothes, shoes and accessories double since last year, while "skull" items are up 23 percent.

We've scoured eBay to find the best violence-chic offerings in the form of jewelry, shoes, clothes and accessories. When it comes to a subversive trend like this one, a little goes a long way. Unless you want to channel a parole officer (or recent parolee), just a touch will do. Temper these hardcore pieces with girly touches like soft makeup, flowy hair—and of course a sweet disposition.
