With winter storms blanketing much of the country in layer upon layer of snow, the demand for insulating, slush-tolerant boots has surged. In New York City last month, according to blog The Shophound, lines wrapped around the block day-in, day-out at the Soho Ugg Australia store, while a spin around the LL Bean website shows that much of the company's snow boot inventory has already been depleted (though you can still find plenty from the brand on eBay!). L.L. Bean spokesperson MaryRose MacKinnon confirms, “We are just wrapping up our peak sales period for snow boots and sales have been very strong. For example we have seen double-digit increases for our Bean Boot sales [compared to] this time last year.”
