Oscars Fashion Trends (Part 2)

While Part 1 of our Oscar Trends mini-series focused on color choice, this version concentrates on styles and silhouettes, from the feminine but futuristic styles worn by Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lopez to the backward-glancing looks by fashionistas Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Richie.

Sandra Bullock and Cameron Diaz went for the gold, but Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren opted for its BFF, silver.  Metallic or matte, grey tones were popular this season, in curve-hugging, statuesque shapes.

Maggie Gyllenhall and Rachel McAdams, both known for their distinctive tastes, donned oversize prints that seemed diluted by broad strokes. But while Maggie’s look was bold, with an almost ethnic ikat flavor, Rachel’s was dreamy.
