FASHION

Milan Fashion Week Runway Report

With runways featuring names like Versace, Gucci, and Pucci, it’s no surprise Milan Fashion Week is as much about the glitz as it is about the glamour. The Fall 2011 fashion trends were no different. The city’s designers created a luxe atmosphere with lots of rich color, couture cuts, and plenty of fur.

Lush Jewel Tones

Fall Fashion Trend As Seen At: Gucci, Pucci, Fendi, Versace

Rich teals, blues, purples, and greens were all over the runways in fabrics like satin, snakeskin and fur. Very exotic. And continuing with a major spring fashion trend, very 1970s style.

Fall Fashion Trend As Seen At: Jil Sander, Marni

Couture shapes from the 1950s styles were prominent in several designer collections. The best way to play up this Fall fashion trend? Go vintage.

Black and White

Fall Fashion Trend As Seen At: Emporio Armani, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana

Several designer collections consisted predominately of black and white. (In the case of Emporio Armani, it was just black.) This is an easy and always-flattering look to pull off.
