Wear It, Live It, Love It
While most style coverage of late has been focused on what's come out of Fashion Weeks for the spring 2012 season, the rest of us are firmly rooted in fall. We're just now unzipping our sweater boxes, getting our boots re-soled and storing our swimsuits for next summer. The good news is that fall 2011 is replete with fashion trends we love so much we don't just want to wear them; we want to live in them, too. Whether you’re looking to start over or just add statement accents, these styles inspire, both for the body and the bedroom (bathroom, living room...).
Tuxedo Dressing

Slick black and white ensembles with strong men’s tailoring, in either androgynous or highly feminine bents, are a perennial favorite of designers both here and abroad. Crisp tuxedo detailing translates easily to interiors, though the looks works best if you’re completely re-imagining a space.

Editors, celebs and those on the street have taken a liking to brights on the bottom. Perhaps it’s a backlash against all that dark denim. While we never considered upholstering a dungaree sofa (or executing a faux acid wash finish as a backdrop) a strong, brightly-colored wall is a look we stand behind any season.

Sexy in Snakeskin

Seems the glamour pusses have traded in their spots and stripes for scales. Leopard and tiger print pieces have long been loved by style setters, but this season it’s all about the snake, from realistic neutral skins to overdyed examples in purple, fuchsia and emerald. It’s easy to add a transformative accent pretty much anywhere in a room.
