Remember back when MTV used to actually play music videos? We used to eagerly anticipate the end-of-year round-up of the most popular videos the recording industry had to offer.

These days, while MTV is off playing "Jersey Shore" reruns, we look forward to eBay's annual "Top Shopped," a ranking of the major moments in pop culture that captivated shoppers' attention (and their wallets) throughout the course of the year. By compiling sales data across categories, eBay serves as a unique measuring tool for what fascinated the America public, from "winning" celebrities to shows and sports.
