Get the Look: Resort 2010

Fall/Winter, Spring/Summer, Holiday, Pre-Fall...There are more designer collections than most fashion editors can count these days, much less the rest of us. But what's interesting about those once-obscure "in-between" collections, such as Resort (in stores now), is that they're setting more real-world trends than ever before. Why? Because unlike the old days, when resort collections were more reflective of their name (and filled with pieces designed for glamorous, warm weather getaways that most of us can only dream of), these days, they're filled with wearable pieces any fashion plate could easily incorporate into her wardrobe. Here, The Inside Source rounds up our favorite Resort trends, with suggestions on how to get the look for less.

Eclectic Prints at Prada

From left to right: As seen here on Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, Muccia Prada went bold and bright with plenty of colorful art nouveau-meets-Africa inspired prints for the resort season. Wear this vintage 1970s mini dress (buy it now price, $44.99) with a pair of wooden platforms and a lightweight navy cardigan. This mixed-print skirt (buy it now price, $6.99 ) equally captures the look.

Daytime Lace at 3.1 Phillip Lim

From left to right: Best known for creating quirky suits and dresses for modern professionals, Phillip Lim knows how to inject an ultra-feminine element into a piece of clothing without going overboard. A perfect example: this season's intricate lace pattern. A black lace blouse (buy it now price, $1.79) with a simple a-line skirt. Another option? Use Lim's cream lace skirt as inspiration and pair this white lace pencil skirt (buy it now price, $9.99)) with a bold brown belt.

Lightweight Leather at Celine

From left to right: Designer Phoebe Philo wowed the critics with her first collection for storied Parisian fashion house Celine. A element of her winning style? Lightweight leather dresses, skirts and shirts. An a-line black leather skirt (buy it now price, $129) looks as prim as its wool counterpart when paired with a silk shell. More daring fashion followers can try leather shorts (buy it now price, $125), another look from the show, and keep them classy (not biker babe) by pairing with a soft short sleeve sweater and simple strappy heels.

More Sparkle at Stella McCartney

From left to right: It may be time to retire your sparkling mini dress, but those who love a bit of shine will be happy to know that it's still in style. Take a cue from queen of cool casua—Stella McCartney—and try a sequined cardigan or tee this time around. J.Crew's gray tank (buy it now price, $129.99) looks exceptional with another warm(er) weather trend: khaki; H&M's black zipper bomber (buy it now price, $29.99) is an example of unstudied chic when thrown over a white v-neck and jeans

Floral Chiffon at Dianne Von Furstenberg

From left to right: DVF may be known for her vibrant printed dresses, but the veteran designer really hit it out of the park with this wispy floral frock. Try emulating the style with a vintage equivalent, such as this burgundy and blue garden party style (starting bid, $18.39) or aim for something a little more modern with Topshop's romper (buy it now, $39.90).
