What to Wear This New Year's Eve
Love it or leave it (and people seem to fall firmly in one camp or the other), New Year's Eve calls for a showstopping ensemble. Here, a few suggestions, all drawn from runway trends, to guarantee you that midnight kiss.
Lace
The romantic allure of lace is a no-brainer. Mix the delicate fabric with some tough love, like a leather skirt or a biker bootie. Lace also looks good paired with shocking jewel tones, a touch of shine, or contrasted with another lace pattern.

Jumpsuit
The jumpsuit, recently accused of being a flash-in-the-pan trend harking back to Studio 54, seems here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. We like an all-black style (and there are plenty of affordable versions on eBay) paired an embellished belt and sexy heels. And if you’re still feeling a little unsure, toss on a fitted blazer.

Green
As we've said before, emerald green has to be one of the most electrifying colors to dominate the runway this season. While we love the head-to-toe looks seen at Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, if you feel the color will be wearing you instead of you wearing it, go for a separate. Try a satin cropped pant or a chiffon dance skirt instead. The best thing about this color is it's surprising versatility; you can pair it with black, cream, silver or bronze metallic for an uber-rich appeal. Simple diamonds, strappy stilettos and a bit of faux fur will make you feel like a Hollywood starlet.
