Stylist/Designer Lori Goldstein on Birkin Bags on eBay, Jason Wu, Long Hemlines & More She Covets

Lori GoldsteinLori Goldstein is a true fashion insider. You may not know her by her picture (though it’s been taken by fashion’s greatest photographers, like Inez & Vinoodh and Steven Meisel) but you certainly know her by her work. Take, for instance, the two decades-worth of iconic images she’s styled and Annie Leibowitz has shot for Vanity Fair, the equally stunning work she and Meisel have created for Italian Vogue or the provocative, sexy covers she puts together for W. She has styled the campaigns of every major house, from Gap to Versace, and she’s made the likes of Madonna, Julianne Moore, Anne Hathaway and Demi Moore look red carpet ready.

Season after season, Goldstein lends her magpie-like aesthetic to Carolina Herrera’s and Vera Wang’s runways. And last September, she stepped out from behind the fashion curtain and debuted her own line for QVC. Logo Instand Chic is a line of stylish basics that carry Goldstein’s signature flare, but often with a $100-or-less tag. In addition to her behind-the-scenes duties at Carolina and Vera during this Fashion Week, she also hosted not one but two Logo Instant Chic parties, including last night’s at the QVC pop-up store in Rockefeller Center.

LG: Short dresses and cookie cutter red carpet fashion

TIS: Which new designers are you looking forward to seeing for Spring 2011?

LG: I'm looking forward to Jason Wu. I love his aesthetic.

TIS: Tell us about your line for QVC, Logo Instant Chic?

LG: It was the right place and right time for the line, both in my life and a customer need at QVC. Many women have said to me since I was little, "I wish I could dress like you.” Now, you can! I never forgo quality for style. Many of the Logo Instant Chic items are less than $100.

TIS: What are your must-have looks for fall, Logo and beyond?

LG: The Logo military coat and zip front cardigan and Valentino’s lace motorcycle boot.

TIS: Do you remember your first purchase on eBay?

LG: A Louis Vuitton jewelry box.

TIS: Your favorite eBay search?

LG: Hermes Birkins. I have actually made friends with like-minded people who love the bags.

Can you tell me who designs the jewelry worn on the television series "Parenthood"?
