Rachel Bilson Fetes DEREK LAM + eBay; Reveals Favorite Spring Trend

Ever since her "O.C." days, actress Rachel Bilson has been charming us with her refreshing off-screen style. From pairing jaunty chapeaus with luxury labels to experimenting with extra-long lengths on her petite frame, the stylish celebrity has become something of a fashion favorite—Karl Lagerfeld recently cast Rachel Bilson for a much circulated series of advertisements he directed for Magnum ice cream and she even designed her own line for DKNY.

Fresh from a flight from Nice, France, where she had a front row perch at the Chanel Resort 2011 show, Rachel Bilson stopped by SoHo, NYC for a block party to celebrate the new DEREK LAM + eBay collection. We caught up with the L.A.-based actress.

The Inside Source: You're wearing the Derek Lam for eBay boho maxi dress tonight. Did you pick it out?

Rachel Bilson: I did! I love the print. Plus, the maxi length fits my style right now. It's relaxed and comfortable but still pretty.

 

The Inside Source: And how would you describe your personal style? You seem to always add a twist to your outfits.

Rachel Bilson: I like quirkiness and putting my own spin on things rather than doing a head-to-toe outfit. Accessories are great for that. I guess I don't like anything that's too perfect.

The Inside Source: Have you shopped on eBay online auction before? 

Rachel Bilson: I have. I always either go vintage or designer pieces you can't find anymore. That and I'll look for homeware too.

 

The Inside Source: Is there a decade or genre you might search on eBay? 

Rachel Bilson: I sometimes go Art Deco, but it changes. It's more about the individual piece.

The Inside Source: Any memorable eBay finds?

Rachel Bilson: Not anything specifically memorable. I've had things that I've been watching forever but then the price shoots way up and some unknown person out there swoops in and snags it. I'm always wondering who that person is!

 

The Inside Source: What are some of the fashion trends you like for the spring and summer 2011?

Rachel Bilson: I like all the colors. It's really great for summertime, especially the corals. They're so cheerful.
