Chanteuse Jordin Sparks is one accomplished 20-year old. Along with taking home the American Idol season six top honors, she won an American Music Award for Best Adult Contemporary Artist in 2008. Now the Glendale, AZ-bred singer has been taking on the big city via Broadway—Sparks plays the role of Nina Rosario in the recently revamped Broadway musical "In The Heights"—but in her own trendy fashion, of course. "Everybody wears black here, so I wanted to stand out," Sparks said at a breakfast atop the Bryant Park Hotel to celebrate her first fragrance line, Because of You. "If you see somebody wearing a bright orange coat walking down the street, that's probably me!" she added.

Clad in a fuchsia, one-shoulder, satin Diane von Furstenberg frock that matched the signature scent's packaging, the R&B singer had the kind of bubbly pep to carry off her favorite brights. Bold fashion trend aside, Jordin Sparks was bred to be one diehard beauty girl. "My mom and nana, they always talked to me about skincare and facecare and lipglosses," she shared. "And I love fragrances. My mom had a ton of them on her vanity growing up." Those kinds of memories, along with perfume scents she gathered up in her New York City apartment, inspired her new designer fragrance, Because of You: an orange blossom and peony floral with undertones of vanilla bean and sheer musk that rings in at a surprisingly affordable $9.50 a pop (sold exclusively at Dots). Not that the star is content resting on her laurels. Next up? "I would like to do a unisex scent and a cologne as well," the award-winning singer said. "Not that some of my male friends won't wear this one!"

Jordin wore a gold Swarovski snake ring to the breakfast, but added, "I love silver, it's usually what I wear."

"I wanted a tattoo and my mom said I had to wait until I was 18 to get one. So we literally had a tattoo party when I came of age." Now Jordin Sparks has several tattoos, including a small red heart on her right ring finger and the initials "PJ" behind her left ear that was inked for her younger brother. Get the look but sans the pain or commitment with temporary versions.

"Kate Somerville is the skincare stuff I use. It was outside of the 2008 Grammys and they had a tent where I got an oxygen facial. Then afterwards, I got all the products. Now as soon as I change from it, my skin goes crazy."
