eBay's LookBook Lands in New York

If the countless—and often widely read—blogs featuring gorgeous, off-the-cuff shots of stylish everyday folk are any indication, we are taking our fashion cues from street style as much as the tried-and-true glossy.

The eBay Fashion LookBook, which launched this week, not only celebrates street style, but also lends a hand in helping shoppers snag their favorite looks by linking them to similar clothing and accessories for sale on the eBay marketplace. Yesterday, to kick off the LookBook launch, members of the LookBook Style Panel, including Whitney Port, fashion designer and star of “The City”; Elise Loehnen, Editor at Large of Lucky magazine; and Annabel Tollman, Celebrity Stylist and eBay Fashion Contributor, carted racks of goodies to Astor Place in Manhattan in an impromptu street style casting—think, everyday New Yorkers (and vacationers) amped up with a pros touch.

Photos from this casting and another next week in Los Angeles, along with additional photos submitted online, will be available on the LookBook site and subject to voting by the Lookbook community through October 31st. The LookBook Style Panel (also comprised of eBay Trend Expert Karen Bard and The Inside Source Editorial Director Meredith Barnett) will then select a grand prize winner from the 25 submissions receiving the most votes.

The grand prize winner will be awarded an ultimate shopping and style experience including a $5,000 shopping spree on eBay, style consultation with Lucky Editor at Large Elise Loehnen and a professional photo shoot with Lucky Street Style photographer Michael Waring, and will also be featured on eBay Fashion and The Inside Source.
