Three Irresistible Spring Shoe Trends
This spring, designers are lending a warm-weather vibe to shoe styles—like clogs and military-style boots—that we typically find in the fall. And the floral prints we've been seeing for the past few seasons have made their way to our toes too, in the form of sky-high heels we can't get enough of.
Clogs

No longer hippie footwear, the clog is now officially in the fashion spotlight. Karl Lagerfeld added a dose of classic luxury with classic pearl embellishments and high platform heels for Chanel, while at Louis Vuitton, designer Marc Jacobs gave his clogs kitten heels and furry tassels that were used throughout the show. If you're going to get on the bandwagon, look for styles with high heels and some sort of fancy-fun detail.

Floral Print Heels

Floral print is a spring mainstay, especially for the past few seasons. Flowers on wedges and heels add an extra flirty vibe to an outfit. At Rebecca Taylor, models strutted down the runway wearing bright Liberty printed floral ankle-strap platform heels. And at Miu Miu, more graphic small daisy prints appeared on platform booties and mary-janes.

Military Style Boots

The military trend has found its way from head to toe. In footwear, a softer touch seems to be the rule of thumb. Leave behind the lug-soled, clunky combat boot style for more sophisticated pointy toes and stiletto heels like booties shown at Balmain. Or try a similar look from Max Mara show, where stacked heel lace-up boots in neutral-colored canvas were the shoe of choice. To get the look yourself, pick bootie styles, preferable in canvas, with utilitarian accents like laces or buckles.
