CULTURE

eBay Makes it Pink

As has become an important nationwide tradition, companies, individuals and organizations around the country will be painting the town pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Naturally (and for the eighth year in a row) eBay will be doing its part—in characteristically fabulous and over-the-top pink fashion.

eBay Makes it Pink

The homepage of eBay's "Make it Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness campaign

The online marketplace's charity fundraiser, called "Make it Pink," will benefit nonprofit breast cancer organizations through a host of programs: Shoppers can browse (and buy) tens of thousands of "pink" listings that benefit breast cancer organizations; they can make donations directly when they check out on eBay using PayPal; or they can sell on eBay and donate up to 100 percent of their items' sale price to a breast cancer organization of their choosing (as a "thank you" for doing so, they'll receive credits on basic eBay fees).

There will also be a whole bunch of headline-making charity auctions, from designer outfits worn by Fergie and Ashley Greene to a VIP Experience in New York City on New Year's Eve.
