Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley is so much fun, incredibly clever, filled with a gazillion ideas, and always up for a good time, a spirit that’s evident in her covetable, coquettish-meets-glam designs. Whether she’s designing for her own line (she sells to hundreds of boutiques and also owns five stores of her own) or for her kids’ collection at Babies “R” Us, she has a playful sensibility that makes for classic pieces with just the right amount of twist.

Before heading to the Dominican Republic to go on a family surfing trip, Rowley (pictured above, center, with models from her fall/winter 2009 collection) shared her Christmas list with us. She told us what she’s thinking about getting for her husband and two girls, and also let us in on what she’s hoping will be under the tree with her name on it.

As an avid eBay shopper, she’ll be giving and getting plenty from the online marketplace this year. "For busy people, shopping on eBay is a huge time-saver. It gives you the thrill of the hunt and a way to find special, one-of-a-kind pieces. I buy great vintage kids' clothes, rare handicrafts and unusual jewelry to mix with pieces already in my closet.
