See What Everyone's Talking About on eBay

eBay Top SharedThere's something endlessly interesting about knowing what products people are talking about. (Why do you think fashion magazine editors use the word "trends" in headlines all the time? It helps newsstand sales.) And in this day and age, what better way to measure an item's buzz than the frequency of its appearances in social medial?

eBay's recently launched Top Shared function is a very neat representation of just that—a collection of the most talked about, most emailed, most tweeted and most liked listings on eBay at any given time, it's determined by tracking how regularly eBay users share listings on Facebook, Twitter and email. You can see what's hot today, what's been big this month, and even filter to view only eBay listings that are still available for sale. Popular items reflect the mix of eBay users' eclectic interests, and range from celebrity memorabilia (a Lady Gaga-signed Rolling Stone, a life-size Hulk Hogan statue) to fashion (leopard print Chucks) to big ticket items (a fancy vintage BMW) to funny stuff (this squid-like ski mask) to political statements.

It's a super fun browse (plus, you never know when you'll need a Superman skateboard). But what would be even better (though of course not possible due to privacy issues) would be to see some of the comments attached to the tweets and emails.

Take a look and see a few highlights here.
