Topping Fashion Charts at the Country Music Awards
Given country music's recent convergence with pop, it's no surprise that the celebrities on the red carpet at the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards are beginning to resemble that of more mainstream awards shows like the Grammys and the VMA's. Last night's celebration brought a mix of country music stars both classic (Reba McEntire, Loretta Lynn) and new (Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood), along with celebs like Leighton Meester, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman (who is married, of course, to country star Keith Urban) to Nashville, Tennessee, for the 44th annual Country Music Awards celebration.
As the evening's host, singer Carrie Underwood stole the fashion show with a rainbow of trendy dresses that ranged from jade to buttercup to plum. The other attendees and performers seemed to take the color cue from Carrie, with racy reds and pinks, gorgeous blue-grey, and sizzling shades of silver and the evening's reigning color trends.
