Tis The Season To Get Glam! Celebrity Hair Stylist Oribe Shows Us How.

Oribe

Oribe is one of the world’s most sought-after celebrity hairstylists. He’s partnered with the world’s top photographers—Steven Meisel, Irving Penn, Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon, Herb Ritts and Annie Leibovitz, to name a few—and created signature looks for celebrities and supermodels like Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez and Naomi Campbell. Now, he shows us three easy hairstyling tips so you can look like a star this New Year’s Eve!

1. Rita Hayworth in "Gilda"

“Rita Hayworth’s style from Gilda is a great look for New Year’s Eve. It’s a classic style—that glamorous, movie-star hair. To get the look, pin curl your hair or use a curling iron to set it, then brush out the curls. You’ll end up with a beautiful, wavy style that’s very ‘30s or ‘40s. I like to use Oribe Soft Lacquer Heat Styling Spray as I’m curling the hair because it adds a nice sheen. You can finish by misting [hairspray] to set the look before you go out.”

2. Katy Perry's Blue Wig

“Go with a fantastic wig in an unexpected color.  It doesn’t necessarily have to be super-bright, but you can play around with your look like Katy Perry. Get a wig you like (it doesn’t have to be expensive), have your hairdresser cut great bangs into it, and have fun."

3. Scarlett Johansson's hairstyle at the Tony Awards

“Another great party look would be a version of Scarlett Johansson’s style from the Tony Awards. I gave her a tight French twist for the red carpet, and hers was combed perfectly, but you could mix it up by using Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray through the top to break it up. You can get a messy, sexy look, sort of like Tippi Hedren in The Birds.”
