The Best 2011-Inspired Halloween Costume Ideas: Part 2

The older we get, the more Halloweens past get jumbled together in our memories: "What was I again last year?" "Oh yeah, a zombie—for the third time."

What better way to make this Halloween one you won't forget than by using it as an excuse to commemorate the year that was? From over-the-top nuptials (both royal and Hollywood) to celebrity antics and fear-inducing films, 2011 provided plenty of fodder for folks inclined to go all-out.

Yesterday, we shared five "winning" ideas (thanks, Charlie Sheen) and today, we share five more below, along with the eBay items you need to pull the look together fast.

Bridezilla Kim Kardashian

Their show may be called “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” but 2011 was all about trying to keep up with Kim. First she embarked on a whirlwind romance with NBA basketball player Kris Humphries. Then, after dating for about six months, the couple became engaged in May. (Kris proposed with a giant 20.5 carat diamond ring.) And finally, on August 20, the couple became husband and wife in an elaborate ceremony at a private mansion in Montecito, CA. Although her large and lavish rock may be hard to come by, you can easily recreate Kim’s wedding day look by getting a gown that looks like any of her three wedding dresses. Add a little cush to your tush, and the look is complete.

Bonus Points If You: Can convince your four closest friends to put in brunette extensions and parade as your Kardashian bridesmaids.

Jackie O.

Jackie O.

Revealing, never-before-heard audiotapes featuring Jacqueline Kennedy were released this year and gave a rare glimpse into the mind of the late First Lady. In the interviews, given just months after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, Jackie O. reflected on her time in the White House, described the late President’s talents as a father to their children and gave honest (and often not very flattering) opinions of other world leaders like Martin Luther King, Jr., Mamie Eisenhower and French President Charles de Gaulle. Instead of dressing as a ‘60s-era woman from “Mad Men” like everyone else, costume as elegant Jackie with the help of a pillbox hat and pearls.

Bonus Points If You: Pin your hair into a long bob and speak in a breathy, high-pitched voice all night.

SEAL Team 6

Pay tribute to our troops and their amazing sacrifice by dressing as one of the brave Navy SEALs. After all, people have always costumed as their heroes: firefighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, etc. It’s time the SEALs got some recognition, especially after their successful operation to find and capture Osama bin Laden in Pakistan this year. Of course, SEAL Team 6 is the most secretive of all the units, which is perfect for this mysterious holiday.

Bonus Points If You: Get a group together and travel in a pack of six.

Jo Calderone

The good news is that if you want to look like Lady Gaga this Halloween, you won’t have to wear a dress made out of raw meat. In fact, you won’t even have to wear a dress at all. This year’s Gaga costume is actually her male alter-ego Jo Calderone. All you’ll need is an Elvis wig (run your hands through it with some grease), a faux-dirty white cotton tee and a baggy men’s suit. Paint on some strong, thick eyebrows, use your bronzer to create a subtle 5 o’clock shadow and you’re done.

Bonus Points If You: Perfect the Jo Calderone snarl and wear that, too.

Beyonce & Gwyneth Paltrow

Their husbands, Jay-Z and Chris Martin, are both mega music stars (albeit in completely different genres), but the men’s common careers seem to have brought the ladies together. First, Gwyneth and hubbie Chris were among the few people invited to Beyonce and Jay-Z’s ultra-exclusive wedding. Then, Gwyneth asked Beyonce for help preparing for her 2011 Grammy Awards performance. Since then, the BFFs have been spotted celebrating B’s 30th Croatia and G’s 39th in New York. Of course, Beyonce recently announced her pregnancy, so she’s sure to get plenty of solid advice from super-mom Gwyneth. Our best advice for dressing like the duo? Get extensions or wigs to mimic these long-haired beauties. Also, black outfits with plunging necklines—a sparkly jumper for B and a feminine tuxedo jacket for Gwill help you recreate their Grammy looks.

Bonus Points If You: Add a prosthetic bump to Beyonce’s costume.

This shouldn't be called the inside source because they obviously have no idea what people want to be for halloween. Any sane person knows that your not going to see adults or even little kids go partying or trick or treating with that crap on.
